On February 20, 2020, the Minister of Transport of the Republic of Latvia Mr Talis Linkaits lead a delegation from the ministry to participate in the 3rd Global Ministerial Conference on Road Safety in Stockholm, Sweden.


From 5-10 October 2019, transport and logistics team VIA LATVIA travelled to Shanghai - the heart of the Yangtze River Delta, the financial centre of China, to participate - for the first time - in the 2nd China International Import Exhibition.


On Wednesday, 23 October 2019, the Minister of Transport of Latvia Mr Talis Linkaits addressed the 5th China and Central Eastern European Countries (CEEC) 17+1 High-Level Tourism Forum participants in Riga.


From 10-12 October 2019, Latvian transport and logistics enterprises participated in the 14th China (Shenzhen) International Logistics and Supply Chain Fair 2019 (CILF) in Shenzhen, China.


From 7-8 October 2019, the Ministry of Transport of Latvia participated in the First 17+1 Civil Aviation Forum in Prague, the Czech Republic. The forum was hosted by the Ministry of Transport of the Czech Republic and supported by Civil Aviation Administration of China.


The Council of Transport Ministers met on Friday in Brussels to debate the role of transport sector in achieving the EU climate goals. While stressing the need for the EU transport sector to contribute to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and whilst examining concrete measures to be taken by Member States, Bulgaria, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland and Romania have emphasized that there is a certain level of incoherence in some transport legislative proposals compared to the EU climate policy goals and ambitions to reduce GHG emissions.


On November 27-29, 2019 in the Baltic capital of Riga, Latvia, 5G policymakers, heads of major industry organisations, and business leaders from Europe, the USA, and Asia will gather for one of the leading 5G events worldwide to discuss the deployment of the first commercially-viable 5G business models at 5G Techritory, the 2nd-annual Baltic Sea Region 5G Ecosystem Forum (the 5G Techritory Forum), organised by the Electronic Communications Office (ECO) of Latvia.
